Hot dip galvanized steels are manufactured by the continuous zinc coating of cold rolled coils. Bare surface material passes through a bath of molten zinc and gets coated. At the exit point, air blades sweep excess zinc by the means of pressurized air flow leaving a thin layer of zinc on surface.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The main advantage of galvanized steels over cold rolled steels is their resistance to corrosion and longer life span. This feature makes them a good choice for automotive industry and for products that are subject to ambient conditions. such as cladding, roofs, doors, fences, and various profiles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Galvanized materials\u2019 surface qualities are produced in accordance with international standards in three different surface types A, B and C (best quality). In accordance with EN 10346 surface qualities are described as seen below.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Galvanized Steels According to Surface Quality<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Surface quality A Galvanized Steel:<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Imperfections such as dips, scratches, variations in surface appearance, dark spots, light passivation stains are permissible. Stretch levelling breaks or run-off marks may appear.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Surface quality B Galvanized Steel:<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It is obtained by skin passing. Minor imperfections such as slight scratches, skin-pass marks, stretch levelling breaks, run-off marks, surface structure and light passivation stains are permissible.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Surface quality C Galvanized Steel:<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It is also obtained by skin passing. The surface shall be of homogenic property to enable high-class paint finishing. The reverse surface shall at least have the characteristics of surface quality B.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
