Even though modern steel mills have sophisticated measurement and correction systems, it is a challenge to achieve tight tolerances due to thermal expansion and cooling shrinkage of the material.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hot rolling of slabs and producing hot rolled coils is the initial step for manufacturing other steel types such as pickled and oiled coils, cold rolled coils, coated coils and painted coils. So, in addition to be supplied and directly used, hot rolled coils are traded as raw materials for rerolling facilities that manufacture further processed steel types.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hot rolled coils are one of the most affordable steel raw materials due to minimal processing.
