The process of producing rectangular/square shaped steel sheets by cutting steel coils or bands in accordance with the customer's requirements is called cut to length service.
The length and corner perpendicularity tolerances of the sheets obtained are aimed to be as narrow as possible. Elimination of edge waves and achieving of target tolerances are directly related to the quality of the cutting line and the experience of the machine operator.
Components of such cutting lines, consists of an decoiler, straightener, Guillotine and finally a stacking unit. The quality of these components and their harmony with each other affect the quality of the sheets. Surface flatness defects that may be found in the mother coil can be corrected within the skill of the line used.
EN 10131 standard for cold rolled products and EN 10143 standard for coated products determine the technical and dimension tolerances such as flatness, edge wave and out of squareness of the sheets. Due to the fact that our customer portfolio consists of companies sensitive to these tolerances, we meet and exceed tolerance limits set by these standards. Usage of appropriate equipment and workforce is the key element for Ferineks’s success on customer satisfaction.
